Royal-Pedic Quilt Top Mattress

Combining the orthopedic support of the Royal-Pedic All Cotton Mattress with firm layers of Talalay Latex and surface quilting, the Royal-Pedic Quilt-Top Mattress offers a solid and firm support with some surface plushness.

The Royal-Pedic Quilt-Top Mattress is the 2nd most firm mattress in the Classic Collection. Firmness wise, it’s between the Royal-Pedic All Cotton Mattress without and with the Royal-Pedic 3″ Pillowtop Pad.

Like our other mattresses in the Classic Collection, the Royal-Pedic Quilt-Top Mattress features a two-sided design, so your mattress can be flipped and rotated for better wear and longevity. Mattresses that are one-sided can wear faster because you are sleeping only on one side night after night for its entire useful life.

Made with natural and hypoallergenic ingredients that allow breathability for ventilation of body heat, and do not contain layers of polyurethane foam padding for a healthy and breathable sleep environment.

The Double Diamond Box Spring supports the mattress and provides an extra layer of suspension for increased comfort. The center-third of the box spring contains 50% more modules to add extra support where it’s needed the most. 5-Star hotel grade wide slatted wood frame provides greater durability. California King and Eastern King sizes have two box springs.

Features

Breathable All Cotton Covering

Luxurious all-cotton fabric promotes natural airflow to help regulate body temperature for more comfortable sleep. Woven on precision computerized looms, the fabric is produced to exacting specifications, ensuring consistent quality, durability, and a smooth, refined feel night after night.

Exquisite French Wool to wick away moisture

In a world so full of modern day chemicals, it’s exceptional when we can enjoy the benefits of wool the way nature intended – all natural, no chemicals added. The sheep we select our wool from live in picturesque open ranges in France. The wool is gently hand washed in baking soda and water. Wool is hypoallergenic, resistant to mold, mildew, and dust mites, and the naturally coil shaped wool fibers dissipate excess body heat and moisture to create an optimally dry and neutral temperature zone for a sound night’s sleep.

Natural Flame Barrier

Made from wood pulp and silica (sand), our natural flame barrier contains no carcinogenic chemicals and is Prop 65 compliant. Soft, flexible, and breathable, it enhances comfort while preventing flames from penetrating the mattress. Compostable and environmentally responsible, it is recognized as a natural product by the U.S. Trade Commission.

Comfort Fill for Added Plushness

Located underneath the French Wool layer is a layer of odorless Comfort Fill hypoallergenic polyester fiber for added plushness.

Talalay Latex Cushioning

A firm layer of Talalay latex delivers supportive comfort with targeted pressure relief. Its pincore construction enhances airflow to help dissipate body heat. Sourced from natural rubber tree sap and processed at a modern facility in the Netherlands, Talalay latex is crafted to exacting standards for consistent quality and durability.

Inner Tufting by Hand

The Royal-Pedic Quilt-Top Mattress is quilted on the outside for a plush surface feel, and inner-tufted on the inside to provide orthopedic firm support. The layers of staple cotton padding are inner-tufted by hand with British tufting straps for firm and consistent back support.

Layers of Pristine Staple Cotton

Naturally breathable and hypoallergenic, long-staple cotton promotes cooler, more comfortable sleep. Sourced from California and Texas and typically reserved for high-end custom upholstery, the cotton is formed into pre-compressed layers and hand-tufted for lasting stability, uniform support, and resistance to shifting over time.

Quilted Staple Cotton Support Layer

Dense staple cotton is specially quilted into a supportive pad and strategically placed in the center third of the mattress, providing enhanced orthopedic support where the body needs it most—helping maintain proper alignment and long-term comfort.

Hypoallergenic Insulator Pad

A thin, yet durable layer of odorless hypoallergenic polyester fiber is secured to the surface of the innerspring to provide support preventing the cotton layers from pocketing into the coils.

Royal Flex 800i Innerspring Unit

Precision engineered in Switzerland and made in the USA, the Royal-Flex® 800i innerspring is heat-tempered for durable, consistent support. Its double-offset, open-ended 6-turn coils contour responsively to the body while maintaining overall stability. Crafted from upcycled steel for reduced environmental impact.

T-Spring Side Supports

T-Spring Side Supports are connected by hand equidistant around the perimeter of the Royal-Flex innerspring unit to heavy duty border wire for side to side sleeping comfort and support.

Two Sided Construction for Longevity

Royal-Pedic mattresses are built with equal comfort layers on both sides, allowing the mattress to be flipped and used evenly. This double-sided construction promotes more balanced wear and enhanced longevity—unlike no-flip designs, which place all padding on a single side.

Layering Staple Cotton

Premium quality staple cotton padding from California and Texas creates a consistently supportive sleeping surface. Pre-compressed and hand-layered, our cotton batting prevents lumps and shifting materials. These natural fibers ventilate body heat and provide superior durability compared to synthetic polyurethane foam found in other mattresses.

Hand Tufting

A time-honored craft from the 1930s, hand tufting compresses materials using British tufting straps threaded through approximately 59 insertion points per queen mattress. This labor-intensive process ensures exceptional orthopedic back support, minimizes body impressions, and prevents material shifting for lasting comfort and stability.

Tape Edging

Binding tape is meticulously sewn onto mattress edges with the same dedicated care we'd use for our own families. This precise finishing technique secures all layers, prevents fraying, and creates clean, durable borders that enhance both the mattress's appearance and its longevity throughout years of use.
