FAQs
FAQs
Can I use it on an adjustable base?
Yes. The latex core bends and flexes with an adjustable base, and it also works well on a box spring or platform bed.
What does 7-Zone mean?
The Talalay latex core is made in seven zones with different levels of support. It is softer under the shoulders and hips and firmer everywhere else, so each part of the body gets the support it needs.
How firm is it?
It is a 3 on our 1–5 scale on its own. For a plusher surface, add our Royal-Pedic 3″ Pillowtop Pad.
How often should I flip it?
It is two-sided. Turn it head to foot one month and flip it over the next.
How deep should my fitted sheets be?
Choose fitted sheets with a pocket depth of about 12″. The mattress is about 9–9.5″ tall, and the extra depth lets the sheet tuck securely underneath. With our 3″ Pillowtop Pad (about 12–12.5″ in all), choose about 15″.

Royal Latex Quilt-Top Mattress
The Royal Latex Quilt-Top offers the buoyant, quiet support of latex in place of springs. Its 7-zone Talalay latex core is softer at the shoulders and hips and firmer at the lower back. Quilted French wool on top gives it a medium, two-sided feel that flexes gracefully on an adjustable base. Handmade to order in Los Angeles.
The inner core of the mattress is comprised of 7 zones ergonomically designed for uncompromising comfort. It features softer shoulder and hip areas for pressure point relief, and a firmer lower back area to provide buoyant support. Compared to springs in a mattress, latex is more motionless for a denser feel of support.
For more plushness, top it off with our Royal-Pedic 3″ Pillowtop Pad, and take it to a level 4 firmness rating within our line.
Handcrafted in Southern California
Precision Stitching
State-of-the-art sewing machinery ensures every mattress is sewn with exacting precision for lasting comfort and durability. Each stitch is executed with meticulous care and attention to detail, resulting in professional craftsmanship that guarantees both structural integrity and exceptional quality you can depend on.
Layering Staple Cotton
Premium quality staple cotton padding from California and Texas creates a consistently supportive sleeping surface. Pre-compressed and hand-layered, our cotton batting prevents lumps and shifting materials. These natural fibers ventilate body heat and provide superior durability compared to synthetic polyurethane foam found in other mattresses.
Hand Tufting
A time-honored craft from the 1930s, hand tufting compresses materials using British tufting straps threaded through approximately 59 insertion points per queen mattress. This labor-intensive process ensures exceptional orthopedic back support, minimizes body impressions, and prevents material shifting for lasting comfort and stability.
Tape Edging
Binding tape is meticulously sewn onto mattress edges with the same dedicated care we'd use for our own families. This precise finishing technique secures all layers, prevents fraying, and creates clean, durable borders that enhance both the mattress's appearance and its longevity throughout years of use.
